Araksya Karapetyan, Fox 11 News general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor for KTTV’s Studio 11 LA, has been selected as the midlifebachelor.com Woman of the Month for June 2012!

Very recently, I noticed this stunning, 29-year old reporter of Armenian descent while watching Fox 11 News at 10 p.m. here in the Los Angeles area. She is extremely articulate, and obviously has a passion for reporting the news. Araksya Karapetyan is still in the early phases of her news career development – and I think she is going to be a superstar … and so it is my pleasure to honor her here with the distinction of midlifebachelor.com Woman of the Month!

Araksya Karapetyan emigrated to Palos Verdes from Armenia when she was just seven years old. She went to college in New York, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations and Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. She interned at KABC-TV in Glendale, CA, and at KFI 640 AM in Burbank, CA, and also at Torrance Citi Cable 3 in order to get her career started. She was described by a colleague of hers during the KFI 640 internship as being the most impressive intern he has seen in his 30 years as a reporter – which is amazing!

Prior to joining Fox 11 News, she was a reporter at a small television station, KIDK-TV in Idaho Falls, ID, and then she spent two years at KOIN-TV in Portland, Oregan. She returned to Los Angeles to be near her family – especially her grandparents. She is fluent in four languages – Armenian, Spanish, Russian, and (of course), English. She is married … to Amir Yousefi … who I was unable to find anything about. He is a very lucky man, obviously! She is known among her family and friends for wanting to make a difference in today’s world through journalism … by bringing to light anything that can benefit people, especially those otherwise without a voice. And it is exactly this attitude of hers which I (the founder of midlifebachelor.com) believe will make this young woman a superstar television journalist.

Here is the only youtube video I could find of Araksya, back when she was a reporter at KOIN6 in Portland …
